Brussels hosts Implementation Dialogue on the EU Chips Act

On 26 March 2026, the European Commission hosted an Implementation Dialogue in Brussels on the EU Chips Act, led by Executive Vice-President for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy Henna Virkkunen.
The meeting brought together semiconductor industry representatives and stakeholders to discuss the state of implementation of the Regulation and to gather input for its upcoming revision, following the public consultation carried out in autumn 2025.
The discussion highlighted the strategic importance of semiconductors for Europe’s competitiveness and the need to further strengthen the entire value chain to enhance resilience and reduce external dependencies.
According to the Commission, the outcomes of the exchange will contribute to the review of the Chips Act, which will be part of a broader Technological Sovereignty package.
